The career of Vittorio Massone started in 1989 at Klopman Textile Industry (Burlington Group), where he served as Business Analyst. His following experience was at Value Partners, a management consulting firm which he joined as an Associate. In 1994 he moved to Bain & Company, where he continued his career to hold positions of increasing responsibility: he was, indeed, Manager (1995), Partner (1999), and then Director (2004). The roles he held grew in importance and relevance over time, leading him to gain deep experience in the advisory business in the fields of telecommunications, media/entertainment, digital, industrial services, government, and automotive, as well as being involved in complex operations in the functional areas of strategy, organization, merger and acquisitions, customer experience, operational improvement, and procurement. During those years, he worked with clients the likes of Walt Disney, Rai, Consip, Sviluppo Italia (currently Invitalia), Coni Servizi, Gruppo Espresso, and Il Sole 24 Ore. After managing the acquisition of Virgilio/Matrix (1999), the turnaround of Seat Pagine Gialle (1997-2001), and the turnaround of Poste Italiane (2002-2008), he moved to Johannesburg in 2010 to join Bain & Company Africa as a Managing Partner. He helped the company to achieve market leadership and has been the leading figure for Bain & Company Africa until 2018. In his new role, the manager will help Alkemy S.p.A. in carrying out its activities in the field of business model evolution, supporting the team in achieving new growth targets. As well Member of YPO, the Premier Leadership Organization of Chief Executive Officers, with approximately 28,000 members, in the past Vittorio Massone was also Member of the Board, and then President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, and Member of the Council at BLSA (Business Leadership South Africa). Among the roles of great responsibility he held during his career, until the end of 2018 he has been the leading figure for Bain & Company Africa, which he joined in Johannesburg in 2010, when he was appointed to the position of Managing Partner. In South Africa he helped starting up the operations of the company - leading it to achieve market leadership in a few years - and supported the creation of a team of 200 people particularly focused on digital projects. While in Africa, Vittorio Massone's support was key during the turnaround of Telkom SA, a telecommunications company whose share price grew from 14 to about 90 Rand. His professional life gave him the opportunity to work with other top-level clients, and to be involved in particularly complex operations which he led successfully, especially in the functional areas of strategy, organization, merger and acquisitions, customer experience, operations, and supply chain. Among the turnarounds he was involved in: the one of Seat Pagine Gialle between 1997 and 2001, when he supported the Management in giving investors a return on their investments of 20 times. In the same period, in 1999, he supported the Virgilio/Matrix acquisition, his first one in the digital field. The manager was also involved in the Poste Italiane turnaround between 2002 and 2008, when he helped the Group to go from suffering a loss of 200M Euros to realizing an EBITDA of about 2Bn, achieved without redundancies.
