Wizz Air is accelerating its growth across
Europe with a wave of new initiatives, innovative technologies, and an expanded
flight network, further solidifying its position as one of the most dynamic
low-cost carriers in the EMEA region. Italy remains the airline’s most
strategic market, leading both in passenger numbers and in opportunities for
international connectivity.
The company has introduced an extensive range
of new routes from key Italian airports, strengthening its role in facilitating
tourism and business travel. Among the latest additions: flights from Rome to
Glasgow, Bordeaux, and Brașov; from Milan to Alicante, Seville, Cluj-Napoca,
Brașov, and Glasgow; and from Venice, where a third Airbus A321neo has been
added, to destinations like Bordeaux, Tallinn, Valencia, and Tel Aviv. Naples,
Turin, Bergamo, Bari, Palermo, Pescara, and Lamezia Terme also gain new
connections, including direct links to Bratislava, where Wizz Air opened its
newest operational base.
Performance metrics also highlight this
momentum: from January to September 2025, Wizz Air operated nearly 63,000
flights to and from Italy, carrying over 13 million passengers, marking a 9.5%
increase year-on-year, with a 99.8% completion rate and a significant drop in
cancellations.
The company is also introducing advanced
cockpit technologies to improve efficiency, safety, and passenger comfort,
while a strategic partnership with TravelFusion expands access to competitive
fares and enhances digital booking experiences. These updates align with the airline’s
Customer First Compass, a €14 billion strategic plan designed to enhance travel
experiences, broaden route availability, and push continuous service
innovation.
Through network expansion, innovation, and
customer-focused strategies, Wizz Air continues to redefine air travel in
Europe, maintaining its leadership in connectivity, sustainability, and
accessibility.
